Fondren 101 - Tour

Learn the Library

The library is. . . a place, with quiet spaces, software, equipment, books, and expert help.

It’s also an incredible resource of digital information, literature, art, music, science and history.

Learn your way around with Fondren 101. It’s a tour, followed by a short class to show you where to go and how to look in the library. It’s your Fondren Library orientation.

Cultural Anthropology and ORCID

The journal Cultural Anthropology, whose editorial team is currently at Rice, recently began to require that all authors include their ORCID identifier during the article submission process. Join the journal's managing editor, Marcel LaFlamme, in an informal discussion about the conversations that are ongoing among both the editorial team and the larger anthropology community regarding ORCID, as well as how the journal plans on using ORCID.

Light refreshments will be provided.

EZproxy Outage

Please note that off-campus access to Fondren's online resources will inaccessible from 9-10am on December 17th for an EZproxy system upgrade. This will only affect patrons attempting to connect to subscription-based resources from off-campus.

Meeting Federal Funders’ Public Access Requirements

Did you know that, within the next year, Rice researchers receiving federal funding will need to comply with new requirements that the products of their research, including publications and some data, be made publicly available?

This mini-workshop, co-sponsored by Fondren Library and the Office of Proposal Development, will provide participants a general overview of the policies and will highlight key Rice resources available to help navigate these new requirements.
